What Title Case is
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of each major word in a heading, so “the lord of the rings” becomes “The Lord of the Rings”. Short articles, conjunctions, and prepositions stay lowercase unless they begin the title. This is the style used for book titles, article headlines, and section headings.
It's different from Sentence case, which lowercases everything and then capitalizes the first letter of each sentence, and from ALL CAPS. VerbCount lowercases a built-in list of short words (articles, common prepositions and conjunctions) when they aren't first — a practical convention rather than strict AP, APA, Chicago or MLA style, each of which differs in the details. When to use Title Case
Headlines, blog post titles, page titles, section headings, and navigation labels typically use Title Case for a polished, consistent look.
